How it all began.
The Quine family have been living and trading in St Johns for over 100 years.
When Mac Quine ( Quine Bro’s, Builders Ltd ) was forced to stop working due to ill health
( Circa 1980 ) he started selling off his old stock, he then started getting requests for materials that he didn’t have, so he bought them in and sold them on.
Its still a locally owned family run business to this day, run by Mac and Rita’s daughters,
Wendy and Cath and Garry Christian.
Over time, the company expanded to open a new branch in Mill Road, Peel, both branches supply direct to trade or retail customers, we operate a modern fleet of delivery vehicles some fitted with Atlas craines and offer an Island wide delivery service.
We pride ourselves on having many long term members of staff with an excellent knowledge of the building industry developed over many years of working with us.
We are members of the NMBS buying society which provides us with the buying power to compete with the large national Builders Merchants and to keep our prices extremely competitive.
Both depots stock a vast range of building materials from bulk products such as aggregates, blocks, bricks and lintels to the small essential items such as tools, fixings or building chemicals.
